Which department do you work in?
For the last 14 years, I have worked for the large animal division and now also have responsibilities for small animals. Our Operations provides the products and services that our customers rely on to deliver a healthier, safer world.
What are your individual responsibilities?
Quite simply, I am responsible for making sure that North American Animal Operations achieves its key results. These include animal welfare, financial, production, customer success, quality and more. As a company, our main focus is always on delivering the level of service our customers expect and deserve. Only when we help them achieve their goals can we hope to achieve ours.
What is an absolute ‘must have’ in your role?
A 'must have' in my role is willingness to change. I remind myself that what got us here today won’t get us to where we are going and that personal accountability to change starts with me.
What are the best parts of your job?
Our company is filled with people who are passionate. I love to meet them, work alongside them and support them as they deliver on our goals. I enjoy working with my peers to help shape this organization.
I also love working with our customers to develop solutions that help them achieve their objectives.
Tell us about some of your achievements.
At some point early in my career it stopped being about ‘me’ and started being about ‘we’. I’ve certainly led some incredible projects and have enjoyed many achievements along the way, but I am most proud when I see a team come together and get something worthwhile done, big or small. Every improvement helps us move towards a key result, and I am purposeful in calling these improvements out when I see them.
On a personal note, I went back for my MBA at age 44. This was achieved while balancing a family and a busy work schedule.
We occasionally learn that an Envigo product or service helped a lifesaving treatment make it to the finish line and become available to patients. This is incredibly inspiring knowing that our team played a part.
What do you like doing outside work?
The Denver, PA area is in the heart of Lancaster County in Amish Country. Hard work and commitment to family are key elements to the area, and ones that resonate with me. As the saying goes: work hard, but play harder!
